The Ultimate Guide to Food at Coco Cay

Our family loves cruising with Royal Caribbean and our favorite port of course is Perfect Day at Coco Cay.  There are so many reasons that this stop truly makes the perfect day.  As with most of the cruise experience the food at Coco Cay is delicious.  Not only is it delicious but the variety of options of complimentary food makes this day perfect.

For those of you that may not know Perfect Day at Coco Cay is Royal Caribbean’s signature private island in the Bahamas.  A lot of the sailings out of Florida stop at this island.  Most of the time there are 2 ships docked per day but you can get lucky and be the only ship- though we have never been that lucky.

1. Overview of Dining Options on Coco Cay

Each time we stop at this island we are always overwhelmed with all of the food.  We also never want to miss out on any of the delicious food but it is hard to get to everything in one day.

You can eat all day and not spend any extra money.  There is more than enough food that is included in your cruise fare.  We are never hungry.

2. Snacks

There are 3 snack shacks on the island.  They are not your typical snack stops though- they are so much more.  Be prepared to enjoy delicious fan favorite foods including:

  • Crisp Mozzarella SticksChild eating hamburger at Coco Cay Bahamas.
  • Fresh Fruit Platters
  • Burgers and Hotdogs
  • Chicken Sandwich
  • Salads
  • Fries
  • Cookies and Brownies
  • Funnel Cake -pro tip- add some of the famous soft serve ice cream for a delicious treat on a hot day.

The snack booths are located at South Beach, By Oasis Lagoon and inside Thrill waterpark.

South Beach is a bit of a walk but we love to start out day at Coco Cay at South Beach.  Enjoy something delicious from the Snack Shack and then head to another part of the Island.

3. Lunch

The lunch at Coco Cay does not disappoint.  Lunch begins at 11am.  I find it best to go around 1pm then the first round of people are usually gone and you are able to get a table to enjoy your lunch.

There are 2 Complimentary Lunch Options- Chill Grill and Skippers Grill.  They are both very large locations so don’t worry about there being too many people.

You can expect to find many delicious options including:

  • Salads (we love the potato salad)
  • Chicken, Steak or Pork Tacos
  • BBQ Chicken
  • Burgers
  • Hot Dogs
  • Cuban Sandwich
  • Ribeye Cheesesteak Sandwich
  • Portobello & Mozzarella Sandwich
  • Fresh Fruits
  • Cookies and Brownies
  • Soft Serve Ice Cream (of course!)

There are additional options that are an added cost but we have never felt the need to eat more than what is included with your  cruise fare.  We are never hungry.

3. Drinks

Royal Caribbean Beverage cup

As with the cruise ship there are some complimentary drinks offered at Coco Cay.  Our first trip we brought water bottles but now we just grab cups and drink there- it saves having to carry around water bottles.

There is ice water as well as various types of juices. **If you do have a beverage package it will also work on Coco Cay.

There are about 10 bars on Coco Cay, including the swim up bar of course.  You will not go thirsty and will be able to enjoy to you hearts content.

Final Thoughts

If you are heading to Coco Cay you can be sure that you will not go hungry- including the kids.  Be sure to try as many of the options as you can.  For more tips about family travel be sure to check out
