Are you ready to embark on the a long one day adventure at Disney World?! If you have done this you know the feeling of excitment before the day starts but also can’t forget the exhaustion you feel at the end of the day.
We are a Disney Family (and I hope you are too) we have been to Disney many times and are constantly planning our next trip. I firmly believe you are never too young or too old for Disney.
What is This Challenge
The whole purpose behind 4 Parks 1 Day is visiting all 4 Disney Parks in One Day. The challenge that we followed was that we had to go on a minimum of 3 rides at each park. For this trip we decided to focus on the “big” newer rides. And we had to purchase some time of food or drink while at each park.
We tried to keep it a little more exciting by also trying to ride all of the different types of complimentary Disney Transportation.
For this challenge we did this as a parents only trip. We have 4 kids- when we do Disney we do not rush and we do not over do it to prevent massive meltdowns for everyone!
Planning Ahead
For all Disney trips I think you need to have a lot of things planned out. But for this type of a trip in particular planning is key! It was important to know ahead of time which park had the extra magic hours for Disney resort guest because that is where we decided to start our day. Along the same line knowing which park had extra magic hours at night because ending the day at this park helps get everything completed.
Paying attention to the transportation to the parks from your hotel and from park to park. We knew going into it when we were taking the Disney Buses, the monorail the Sky Train and at which part of the day.
Though we did have to get something to eat or drink at each park we didn’t necessarily eat huge meals because we didn’t want to feel too full. Packing healthy snacks was a must for us to help get through the day. We only took one backpack so that we didn’t have so much to carry.
To be truthful you don’t need a ton when it is just the adults. Water bottles, snacks and maybe throw in ponchos and you are good to go.
Day Plan
There are so many different ways that you can do this challenge but here is how we started our day. While at our hotel Saratoga Springs, we had something for breakfast. We didn’t want to feel super full before doing a lot of walking so we drank a protein drink and some food.
7:00am we were waiting at the Disney Bus Stop
8:00am we rope dropped Hollywood Studios (take advantage of Extra Magic Hours for Staying on Site)
1pm we left Hollywood Studios and boarded the Sky Train to Epcot- because we were park hopping we couldn’t get into Epcot before 2pm.
4pm we arrived at Animal Kingdom
7pm we arrived at Magic Kingdom
10pm back in the Hotel
What Were We Thinking
This was a quick trip and as I said only parents. We were down in Florida for a weekend cruise and wanted to do Disney but couldn’t decide which park to do.
So we saw this and though ok why not lets give it a try at least. We LOVE Disney and will give anything Disney a try.
I won’t lie, it was an exhausting day. My apple watch total for the day as 24,252 steps for the day!
I would definitely not recommend doing this with kids they would hate it and it would be even more tiring for you. This is a great trip for a couple or friends. I might even consider trying it with my teen.
The thrill of completing the day was really what kept us going. We have done Disney many times so missing some of the popular Disney attractions was fine with us because we had done them before. If you are going to Disney for the first time I would not recommend this. There is too much Disney that you will miss.
