Disney Cruise Pirate Night

Pirate of the Caribbean on Disney Fantasy

YARRR Its Pirate Night      Disney Pirate Ship on Board the Disney Fantasy

One of our favorite parts of a Disney Cruise and one of the most unique aspects of that cruise line is Pirate Night.  Each sailing that Disney has will have a dedicated Pirate Night.  This was probably the most fun night of our seven night sailing on board the Disney Fantasy.

Disney Cruise Pirate night is pretty much exactly what it sounds like- and it is Disney Style so you know it is going to be good.  A lot of people bring costumes and supplies from home to decorate their whole family as pirates.

The Outfits

Disney gives out pirate bandanas to each of the guests to use in their outfits if they want.  It is a great idea as you are planning what to pack for your cruise to think about what type of outfits your family would like to wear.  On our pirate night we saw Full Blown costumes as well as those just using the bandanas.

For us we made t-shirts that said “Yo ho ho a Pirates Life for me” and then had some red or black skirts and pants to go with it as well.  We did not know that Disney gave out the bandanas so that was a great surprise and an added touch to the fun.Child dressed up for Pirate night on Disney's Fantasy Ship.

For those that want the added tough of magic you can book a Pirate Makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbity Boutique on the ship.

We LOVED the Pirate Outfits that the characters had on as well throughout the ship- that was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed seeing this.

The Food

Everything about the food on a Disney Cruise is over the top in general but the pirate night just goes that much further.  Your menu with the pirate night does not disappoint either.  The menu itself is pirate themed.

As you may expect there is a lot of seafood on this menu.  So how much you enjoy it will depend on how much your family enjoys seafood.  For most people in our party someone found something really delicious- especially the lobster.

On of the thing that sets Disney Cruise Line above others is the crew.  In our opinion the crew on these ships just go over the top in comparison to others.  Pirate night is no different- the staff are all into the Pirate Night (though I know they have to) but a lot of them really seem to be having a lot of fun too.

The Shows

As a Pirate Night first-timer I was a bit overwhelmed with the itinerary for Pirate Night.  So be prepared there is a LOT going on.

The first show you must not miss is Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean.  This is a non stop fun show on the pool deck with Mickey and the whole gang.  Be sure to watch out for Captain Hook in this show as you never know where he will pop out from.

The next show is Bucaneer Blast.  This show includes the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean.  This show has so many fun songs and hilarious jokes it is a hit for the whole family.

As the night continues on there is an over the top Firework show out in the ocean.  This was probably the highlight for me.  Disney Fireworks always impress me but these were over the top.  So great do not miss.

Yes at this point you are probably thinking wow this night seems like it is getting late.  While it is.  I think my kids were probably out until 11pm making sure they didn’t any of the fun.

The last part of the night is the Club Pirate.  It is a pirate dance club at sea.  This was so much fun.  By this point my kids were in their pajamas on the dance floor but having the time of their life.
