The Mom’s Guide to Free Drinks on Royal Caribbean: How to Keep Your Family Hydrated Without a Drink Package

We have a family of 6- we try to cut costs wherever we can.  That being said we really do love to travel and we love to travel with our kids.  One of our favorite kinds of trip are a cruise.  We LOVE cruising!  And we love Royal Caribbean.  There are so many reasons why we love Royal Caribbean but one thing I hear people complain about is paying for non alcoholic drinks.  I am here to tell you that you can survive on a cruise without purchasing a beverage package.

Keep in mind we have found that the variety of drinks that are available at no extra charge vary on which ship you are sailing on.

Drinks Included with Cruise Fare

• Coffee, tea, hot chocolate

  

• Fruit juices (kinds vary)

• Ice Water

• Flavored Water

• Unsweetened Ice Tea

• Milk and Chocolate Milk

• Lemonade

What is NOT Included with Cruise Fare

• Premium coffees, iced coffees, lattes, cappuccino

• Canned and bottled sodas

• Mocktails

• Bottle Water

• Alcoholic Beverages

These beverages are not included.  They can be purchased individually or a package can be purchased for unlimited drinks for the duration of the cruise.  For premium coffee there is a punch card to enjoy for your cruise without needing to buy an entire beverage package.

Where to Find Free Drinks

• Windjammer: if you are looking for milk find it at the cereal area during breakfast and can be requested during lunch and dinner

• Main Dining Room

• Cafe Promenade: juices are not always available all day long

• Park Cafe (on select ships)

• El Loco Fresh (on select ships)

Water Areas

Ice Water can be found throughout the entire ship in various locations.  Water can be found in all of the areas where there are other free drinks as listed above in addition to:

• Sorrento’s Pizza

• The Pool Deck

• Solarium

• Restaurants found on the Pool Deck

• Boardwalk Dog House (select ships)

Pro Tips

We have bought the beverage package a few times and then sometimes we don’t buy the package.  Bring a reusable water bottle to keep hydrated on your cruise- we fill ours with water all day long. This is a great one to try and clips onto a bag easily https://amzn.to/3L80SmO.

Sometimes we bring flavor enhancers for our water or we add half juice and half water.
