Free Family Fun at Perfect Day at CocoCay: Must-Do Activities

One of our family’s favorite places is Perfect Day at CocoCay!  This day is that your entire cruise party will be looking for.  We have been to CocoCay 5 times.  We have been lucky that none of our cruises have had to avoid this island paradise.  It does happen from time to time though that the ship cannot dock due to weather.

Typically you are able to leave the ship around 9am and need to be back on board by 5pm.  There is plenty of time to have your perfect day at CocoCay.

Beaches & Pools (Unlimited Access)

CocoCay has a number of beaches to choose from.  Plan your day ahead so that you can enjoy everything that the island has to offer. The beaches that are free for all to enjoy are:

Harbor Beach:

This is a cove like beach area and is the closest beach to the ships.  The water is usually bit warmer and has a nice and shallow entry for families.  There are plenty of chairs on the beach for you to enjoy.

South Beach:

South Beach is full of excitement.  There are complimentary sports courts including, volley ball, ping pong and corn hall.  These can be pretty busy but keep an eye on them and you can usually get a spot for what you are looking for.

This beach offers many more chairs than Harbor Beach- though the front ones do fill up pretty quick.  There are a lot of people

Chill Island:

If you are looking for somewhere that is central to everything then Chill Island is the place for you.  There are plenty of loungers to enjoy the sunshine by the ocean while the kids play in the sand.  It is central to the food as well as the pool.  Our family likes to head here in the afternoon!

Oasis Lagoon:

Cool off in one of the Caribbean’s largest fresh water pools.  Complete with a swim up bar, chairs in the water and DJs keeping the party going Oasis Lagoon is a must do activity when visiting Coco-Cay.

Splash Parks

Perfect Day at Coco Cay also has a very large waterpark.  Admission is an additional charge.  Our family has never bought tickets to the waterpark but enjoyed the complimentary Splash Parks.  Splashaway Bay is a larger version of what you can find on the ships.  It is complete with water slides and the large tipping bucket that will cool everyone off!!

Captain Jill’s Gilleon Pirate Ship is very close to where the ships dock.  This makes it a great place for a quick play when you first arrive as well as some last minute water fun before heading back to the ship.

Food

Whether you are looking for a quick snack in between games of volleyball or a full meal Coco Cay will keep you satisfied all day.  There are so many complimentary food options to choose from.  Don’t let the name Snack Shack fool you- you can get plenty of delicious food at the Snack Shack.  Our family loves to enjoy the mozzarella sticks and the warm funnel cake!

If you are looking for something a little healthier there are huge salads to enjoy and fresh fruit as well.  The unlimited soft serve that you find on the ship is on Coco Cay as well.  Pro Tip- Grab a funnel cake and then top it with soft serve- so YUMMY!

Exploration

Hop on the tram and take a tour of the island.  There is so much to take in.  From some really cool wild life to beautiful scenery, Coco Cay is a beautiful island.  There are plenty of locals that offer shopping by Chill Island.  As well some great Caribbean music and dancing.  Be sure to stop for unique photo ops to remember your Perfect Day at Coco Cay.
