Our family loves to travel together, whether its to Disney, day trips close to home or sailing on a cruise on the open ocean we love it all.  Having 4 kids though means that we have been in many situations where someone gets sick.  So we have learned as part of our packing lists we need to include first aid supplies and a pretty big list of medication.

First Aid Supplies

Two first aid kits on a white background with ample copy space. For this I find a plastic tote is the best way to put all of this together- one like this is perfect https://amzn.to/3KmWQWP.

Here are the best things to include in your first aid kit for travel:

  • Bandaids (a variety of sizes) https://amzn.to/4n4Cq3C
  • gauze and tape: https://amzn.to/41O3tH
  • Non adhesive pads (these work really well if you have a big cut)
  • Tweezers
  • Nail Clippers
  • Rubbing Alcohol pads
  • Antibiotic Lotion (I get the kids kind because it works for everyone)
  • Gloves (we have never needed them but I would rather have them)

Medication Kitaid, bandage, bottle, capsule, emergency, equipment, first, health, help, kit, medical, medicine, pharmacy, pill, pills, plaster, tablet, thermometer, pharmacy, pharmacy, pharmacy, pharmacy, pharmacy, pills

I always overpack for this but again I would rather have more of everything then not enough.  We like to put our medication in one of these bags https://amzn.to/4mgTxhq because we can easily close it up and hang it up if needed.

Here is the list that we like to always travel with when on vacation with the family:

  • Fever and pain medication (Tylenol and Advil- both chewable and liquid versions)
  • Antinausea medications (Both liquid, pill and chewable so everyone can take it)
  • Medium sized ziplock backs (this is in case anyone is going to throw up when traveling- https://amzn.to/467hnHu)
  • Anti diarrhea medication
  • Heartburn medication such as tums
  • Cold medication for kids and adults
  • Aloe Vera Cream for sun burns (this one is our favorite https://amzn.to/4potMOM)
  • Allergy medication like Reactine or Benadryl just in case
  • Motion sickness bracelets just in case- https://amzn.to/3Ijrekg
  • Thermometer (I find one for the mouth is the best https://amzn.to/3VdkozT)

I hope that you will not need even half of the items on this list but if you do need any of them you will be glad you packed them.  For more family travel ideas and tips be sure to check out Blog – Together We Can Travel
