Are you looking for day trips you and your family can enjoy in Ontario? From outdoor in the nature to fun indoor activities Southern Ontario has so many fun things to keep you busy this summer.
Blue Mountain Resort
Just 2 hours from Toronto Blue Mountain can be easily done in a day. Blue Mountain has so many fun family activities and delicious food options. There are some wonderful walking trails on top of the mountain, the view is breathtaking and a must see.
If you are looking to cool off take a dip at The Plunge Aquatic Centre or head to the water for some paddle boating.
There is so much delicious food to choose from at Blue Mountain to complete your day.
The CNE
An annual event in Toronto. If you have not been be sure to take a trip with your kids. There is so much to see and do.
From fun carnival rides to carnival games it is a unique experience for all. There is so much hands on learning about farming in Ontario- kids won’t even realize all the learning that is happening.
The food at the CNE is unreal. There is the most strange food combinations to the most delicious and
savory treats and meals you can imagine.
Though downtown Toronto may feel too stressful, jump on the Go Train for an easier way to get downtown.
Sauble Beach
About 3 hours north of Toronto, Sauble Beach is a beautiful beach experience.
If you are looking for endless hours of sand castles, sun tanning and swimming then Sauble is where it is at.
The main strip of Sauble Beach has plenty of restaurants to choose from. Our family favorite for a beach day is delicious french frys and of course ending the day with an Ice Cream.
If you are looking for unique shops Sauble Beach won’t disappoint. There are great shops for every interest. If you are looking for more fun there is an arcade as well as a high ropes course for enjoyment for the whole family.
Medevil Times
Along the shores of the Toronto Waterfront you can find Medival Times. A jam packed evening full of food and entertainment. The staff go over and above in their medevil characters which is so exciting for the kids.
Everyone is put on a coloured team to cheer for during the “battle” for the night. The entertainment of this show was top notch. Our kids could not take their eyes off of the show. I would say that you go to this for the show rather than the food.
Blue Jays Game
With the update to the Rogers Centre there are so many family friendly pricing options to enjoy a jays game.
Jr Jays Sunday can be a blast- but beware it is busy. There are so many fun activities for your kids to try.
And be sure to stay until the end so they can run the bases. We
made the mistake of leaving our seats early to get in line and missing the end of a really close game. After going through this once I would never line up early because everyone will get to run the bases no matter if you are first in line or last.
Horseshoe Valley Treetop Trekking
This is another great resort known for its winter activities but it is a lot of fun in the Spring and Summer. The tree top trekking course is great. There are levels for all age groups 6 and up and kids can advance as they feel comfortable.
Be sure to take water on a warm day because the walk to the course can be quite the hike especially in the hot sun.
