Easy Hotel Meals for Families

If you have read any of our other blog posts you know we are a family of 6- and we love to travel!  One of the ways that we can afford to travel is that we save where we can.  Planning for meals in the hotel room is a great way families can save money on their trip.  Hotel room amenities can vary from very basic to full kitchen.

This post will give you ideas of meals to have with your family with minimal kitchen amenities, such as only having access to a mini fridge and microwave.  When we travel in rooms with little to no kitchen options we bring some kitchen gadgets that can come in handy. Some of our favorites to travel with are:

Breakfast Ideas

  • Overnight oats with fruit.Close-up of healthy food jars containing granola, fruits, and yogurt.

  • Bagels with cream cheese or peanut butter

  • Microwaved scrambled eggs (if kitchenette).

  • Waffles (with waffle maker)

Lunch Ideas

  • Turkey & cheese wraps.

  • Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.

Though eating out of a hotel room can take a little bit more work you will save money.  Keep it simple and don’t overthink it- pack what you know your kids will eat and keep them fueled up for the fun.  For more tips and tricks for family travel check out Blog – Together We Can Travel.
