Halloween Fun Aboard Allure of the Seas
Do you love traveling at Christmas or for a family birthday? It is so great spending time vacationing with your family for a special occasion. But have you ever thought of traveling for Halloween? If you haven’t then I am here to suggest you give it a try. I know I know, sometimes people will say but what about all of the traditions that you have at home? And I am here to say that it will be okay, go and make the memories and your traditions will still be there the next year to jump right back into.
When we first booked a cruise that fell over Halloween we truly had no idea what to expect. And the day itself was more than what we could have expected. Our kids did not miss trick or treating at home one bit-they had a blast. Keep reading to see all the fun that can be had on Halloween while cruising with Royal Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean makes sure that you are having non stop Halloween Fun while sailing the high seas.
The Decor
When we cruise one of my favorite things to do is slip out of my room, head down to the promenade and grab a coffee. To my surprise the morning of Halloween when I went down to get my coffee it had been transformed. It was Halloween decor all over, I couldn’t beleive how fast it had been changed.
All over the ship there were subtle little Halloween decorations and as the day went on more kept coming.
At around 4pm the adventure ocean area was closed as it prepared for a special event and when it reopened it was fully decorated for Halloween as well.
For our kids Halloween wouldn’t be the same without our own decorations. So on the morning of Halloween we changed up our stateroom decor and added our own Halloween touches for everyone to enjoy. It was so great to see how many guests get into the Halloween spirit by bringing along various decorations for the staterooms.
The Candy
Halloween evening was full of excitement as there were events for everyone of all ages. One of our favorites of the evening was the family scavenger hunt. The night began in Adventure Ocean where the kids could enjoy a bit of candy. Then dozens of

families embarked on a ship wide scavenger hunt. There were various check points throughout the ship where you would have to find the point and get the next clue (there was candy at every station too) and the families that finished the quickest won a prize.
My family was lucky enough to come in second and our kids were thrilled. We got a great little prize bag filled with a few items. The end of the scavenger hunt ended in Studio B with a dance party. This was a blast for the kids. But I must say this scavenger hunt was exhausting. We were literally running all over the ship as fast as we could because it was a race! Keep this in mind when you select your costume- all the running made the kids very hot!
Though there was not trick or treating that you may be used to back at home, there was still a good amount of candy during the event. We even brought candy to hand out and there were a lot of others that did as well. No one went missing a sweet treat!
If you were craving even more Halloween treats there were plenty to choose from at the Windjammer buffet.
Costumes
This was probably the most creative costumes that I had ever seen on Halloween. There were all ages, young and old dressed up on the cruise. There were great single costumes and really clever group costumes as well.
Royal Caribbean has a costume parade through the promenade for anyone that wants to take part. This was so much fun to be a part of but also so much fun to watch. Tip! Be careful with your kids because it is so busy down there it is easy to lose sight in amongst all of the fun.
The parade goes from one end of the promenade to the next and each guest can strut their stuff in the parade line. The Cruise director gives the play by play as the guests go by.
It was so great to see how much fun everyone was having! If you were up to party all night there are costume contests throughout the night for added fun. Our family was getting a bit too tired for this part of it but the fun was going on all night.
