If your family is anything like mine you spend a lot of time at the beach in the summers.  We are lucky enough that we have about a dozen or more beaches in under an hour drive.  There is nothing quite like laying on the beach, soaking in the sunshine and hearing the kids giggle in the sand.  Though all of our kids love the beach the minute that we get to the beach someone always wants a snack.  In this post, we’ll share tasty picnic food ideas, fun beach activities, packing essentials, and helpful tips to make your family beach picnic a breeze.

1. Best Foods for a Family Beach Picnic                                            Food on tray for beach day.

  • Finger foods: Sandwich wraps, mini sliders, veggie sticks with dip
  • Fresh fruits: Watermelon slices, grapes, berries (easy to share and refreshing)
  • Snacks: Cheese cubes, crackers, trail mix, chips
  • Sweets: Cookies or brownies in a sealed container
  • Drinks: Plenty of water, juice boxes, water enhancers

Be sure to pack the snacks in airtight containers.  Bonus tip keep a pack of wipes to wipe the sand off of your kids hands.  A bucket of water also works for this too.  There is nothing worse than sandy watermelon.
