Our family loves to travel for fun and we travel a lot for dance. We spend multiple nights a year in hotels- with 4 kids we look for savings any place that we can get. There are lots of hotels that offer complimentary breakfasts, but lets face it not all of them. We have found one of the best ways to save money on eating out is to eat breakfast in the room.
Plan Ahead
Reach out to the hotel before you check in to see what is included in the room. Is there a microwave and mini fridge. Check if there is a little table or if you will be working with a small counter. Planning ahead includes bringing items that y

ou might need during your stay. Here are some really helpful items to bring with you.

There are so many things you can easily make with a mini blender. They are so handy to have in your hotel room.
Breakfast Ideas
Instant Oatmeal:
Using either pre packaged cups of oatmeal or brining a package and using a bowl- either works great. The kettle comes in perfect for this.
Waffles:
Use your mini waffle maker to make waffles for your kids in the hotel room. You could even make extra and pack them for snacks later in the day.
Yogurt Parfait:
Pack yogurt, fruit and granola with you for a healthy option for breakfast.
Cereal and Milk:
We like to bring a box of our kids favorite cereal to have during our hotel stay. Individual packaged cereals are super handy too.
Boiled Eggs:
These ones will have to be made ahead of time- but bring along some boiled eggs to keep in the fridge or your cooler for your stay.
Protein Smoothie:
If you pack some fruit with you and protein powder you can use the mini blender to make a smoothie to keep you full for your morning.
